Sunny South Africa

South Africa is one of the countries in Africa that is making real efforts to make their tourists feel safe and welcome, and after the success of the 2010 Soccer World Cup, more and more people are considering South Africa as a holiday destination. But what can I expect when I get there? And why should I go there instead of to some more exotic location? There are a lot of appealing aspects about South Africa as a tourist destination, but here are two reasons why the tip of the African continent is such a great place to visit.

Wildlife

Large parts of South Africa are made up of the grasslands and savannah that we often see on National Geographic specials, and this unique ecosystem is home to some of the most exciting and exotic animals in the world. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhino’s – all of these animals call South Africa their home, and because of continued governmental efforts, the conservation efforts in the country are really paying off. This means that you will be able to glimpse all of this amazing wildlife on a visit to any one of the thousands of world class game parks and lodges in the country. Whether you want a five star luxury experience, or you wish to camp out in rustic tents and get in touch with the bush, there is a perfect wildlife experience waiting for you in South Africa.

Beaches

South Africa is sandwiched on either side by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, which provide contrasting tourist opportunities. The cold Atlantic is best viewed from Cape Town, the famous city that boasts the phenomenal Table Mountain. Whale watching, surfing, cage diving and historical tours are all on offer in this famous city, and let’s not forget the unbelievable bodies that line the pristine beaches. If you fancy something less cosmopolitan, then the warm waters of the Indian Ocean might be what you need.  Home to some of the best waves and beaches in the world, the coastal towns of Kwazulu Natal offer a more laid back, tropical, family-friendly holiday opportunity. Whatever your preference, South Africa has a beach that will be the setting to your all time favourite holiday.

Affordability

The South African Rand trades very favourably against all of the world’s major currencies, meaning that you can get all of these extreme, unique experiences at unbelievably low prices. Do you need any more reasons?
