Las Vegas in a Weekend

Las Vegas is a frequent weekend destination for the residents of Southern California. Travelers from more distant starting points often fear that a weekend isn’t enough time to do the town justice. While it’s true that Las Vegas is packed with sights, sounds and attractions, it is equally true that you can have a fabulous time in just a few days.

To make the most of limited time, consider adding the following activities to your itinerary:

Stay on the Strip

Booking your stay in one of the luxury resorts in the heart of Las Vegas not only puts all of the amenities within reach of your elevator or guest room phone, it also lets you plan your activities from the centre of the action. Public transportation is plentiful in Vegas and elevated bridges, electric sidewalks and monorail connects many of the casinos.

Get Some Sleep

While it may be tempting – very tempting – to divest yourself of your luggage and dive into the 24-hour action Sin City offers, it’s important to remember that the best way to ensure you enjoy your first day in Vegas is to make sure you take it easy on your first night. And with the incredible resort hotels you can find in Vegas staying in can be as fun as going out –  well almost!

Get Out – Or Stay In

Take the time to enjoy some of the natural beauty surrounding this stunning desert oasis. Take a day trip to Red Rock Canyon and explore the many scenic hiking trails there. Play a round of golf on one of the exceptional courses in and around town. As an alternative, pamper yourself with a day spent poolside and a massage or facial in the hotel spa.

Hit the Tables

No visit to Vegas would be complete without spending some time on the casino floor. While the slots are loud, flashy, inviting and usually crowded, they’re also isolating. Las Vegas is full of characters. To make your visit a memorable one, interact with others by taking a seat at the blackjack tables instead.

Indulge in a Decadent Evening

The big resort hotels have been very successful at luring celebrity chefs to oversee their flagship restaurants. If you have an interest in fine dining, you won’t have to look very far to find a variety of menus to entice even the most discerning palate. Follow your meal with a performance of a Broadway-style musical extravaganza or wonder at the magic of Cirque du Soleil. Wind up the evening with a nightcap in a luxury lounge high above the Strip.

See the Sights

Strolling down the strip is like entering an alternate universe. New York New York buzzes with the energy of the Big Apple. A replica of the Eiffel Tower rises at Paris. Visit Renaissance Italy at the Venetian or marvel at the marbles of ancient Rome at Caesar’s Palace. Visitors that are more daring may want to visit the Stratosphere and ride the roller coaster atop that 1,149-foot tall tower.

Las Vegas offers attractions to suit any taste. Pace yourself, plan ahead and be prepared for a wonderful weekend in Vegas!
