Here are some things you should know if you wish to choose this exotic island for your upcoming holiday.

  1. The Canary Islands, which are coveted for their great climate, have earned the name of “Islas Fortunadas”. Lanzarote is no exception. With mild winters, enjoyable summers, and sporadic rains, it is no wonder so many people want to spend their holidays here. Due to the close proximity to the North African mainland, any wind blowing in the direction of Lanzarote is dry, which results in sunny and friendly weather. There is no best time to travel to Lanzarote, because virtually any time is a great time for a holiday in this exotic paradise.
  2. The resorts built in Playa del Blanca are truly 5 star palaces of luxury. There are many luxury villas, apartments and bungalows to choose from, and the restaurants are a true delight. There are so many places worth trying, from local cuisine, to international dishes, the restaurants cater for all tastes. There are also numerous oceanfront luxury hotels which offer holiday packages for families or couples
  3. The beaches are divine. There are pristine beaches, private beaches, water parks, and many water activities to indulge in. There is no way to get bored here. You can snorkel, surf or canoe, and if you are interested in something more exciting you can visit one of the many themed parks and aquariums. However most visitors are more interested in sunbathing and basking in the sun. This can be done on one of the many sandy beaches in the popular resorts.
  4. Lanzarote is the island of inspiration for many artists, and when it comes to natural and architectural wonders, the first thing that comes to mind is Cesar Manrique, who helped create an identity of the island. The architecture of Lanzarote has been strongly influenced by the weather. White is the predominant color of the houses, and their design is characterized by large patios and vividly colored doors and windows.
  5. Arrecife and Teguise, which have strong roots in the local culture and history,  are most popular cities of the island. Arrecife, the capital of the island, is more modern and metropolitan. The surnamed “Venice of the Atlantic” boasts parks, promenades, nightlife and shops galore. Teguise is more popular for its luxury resort, Costa Teguise, which has beautiful sandy beaches, great accommodations and easy access to the island’s major attractions.

You might feel more confident with your decision after reading this article. In any case Lanzarote is a wonderful choice for a holiday of fun and relaxation.
